The Jenbacher J620 generator for fast startup applications is based on our proven Type 6 platform. Introduced in 1989, this engine has been complemented with innovative fast start and high transient capabilities.

To achieve high transient performance, the J620 Fast Start features:

  • An enhanced (optionally redundant) electrical starting system with permanent pre-lubrication and pre-heating to help ensure that the unit is always ready for operation
  • An advanced DIA.NE XT 4 control system with multi-variable, model-based control algorithms to achieve fast start times and transients at desired power quality limits
  • Port injection, enabling cylinder selective gas dosage for optimization of combustion for each individual cylinders
  • Turbochargers with waste gates for fast boost pressure control
  • Real-time pressure-based combustion control

Scope of supply:

The J620 Fast Start is available as a genset or as a fully containerized package where all auxiliary circuits are optimized to support quick start and high transient capabilities. Project-specific container designs are available upon request.

Minimum scope of supply for genset:

  • Engine and alternator installed on the frame
  • Control panel
  • Gas train

Our modular, containerized solution is tailored to your data center’s specific requirements. This pre-installed package includes all required auxiliaries and ensures a quick site installation while featuring a compact footprint. The bottom container houses the heart of the system – the Jenbacher genset. The upper module houses the large auxiliaries such as radiator, ventilation system and exhaust silencer. The overall, 3 MW containerized concept pays special attention to redundancy and allows for a modular, scalable data center layout.
