Available for up to four years from the initial purchase date our extended warranty can help keep your new or overhauled reUp Jenbacher* gas engines running smoothly. Because, as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), we know your engines best.
How we get you there?
New Unit Engines
- Duration: Warranty extension is available for up to four years (48 months) from initial unit purchase. For example, if your unit has 12 months (from the commissioning date) of new unit warranty, then up to an additional three years (36 months) of warranty extension can be offered.
- Scope: The scope of the warranty extension falls into two categories: either the entire “Genset” is covered or the “Genset excluding the turbocharger and alternator” is covered. The second year of warranty extension always applies the full “Genset” scope. One scope must be selected for both the third and fourth year of the warranty—either “Genset” or “Genset excluding the turbocharger and alternator.”
Overhauled reUp Engines (Genset or Longblock only)
- Duration: Warranty extension is available for up to four years (48 months) from initial unit purchase. For example, if your unit has 12 months (from the commissioning date) of new unit warranty, then up to an additional three years (36 months) of warranty extension can be offered.
- Scope: The scope of the warranty extension for Genset overhauls is “Genset excluding the turbocharger and alternator.” The scope of the warranty extension for Longblock overhauls is “Longblock excluding the turbocharger.”
Applicability
New Unit Engines
Warranty extensions may not be available to all engine users. Consult your sales professional to see if extensions are right for your gas engine. The warranty extension is available for new Jenbacher engines previously purchased from INNIO Jenbacher’s New Unit Sales team that meet the following specific requirements:
- The unit is still within the warranty period specified in the New Unit Sales Contract.
- The unit is in operation or—if not in operation—can be shown to have been preserved according to INNIO’s instructions (as defined in TA 1000-0004: Preservation of INNIO Jenbacher Modules).**
- All planned and unplanned maintenance has been completed by either an INNIO Jenbacher certified affiliate., or an INNIO authorized distributor.
- Your INNIO Jenbacher Customer Service Manager (CSM) has verified that the unit does not have any open technical issues that disqualify it for warranty extension (including inspection checklist).
NOTE: The New Unit Sales team may offer a warranty extension with a new unit that has not yet been sold.
Overhauled reUp Engines
Warranty extensions may not be available to all engine users. Consult your sales professional to see if extensions are right for your gas engine. The warranty extension is available for overhauled reUp Jenbacher engines that meet the following specific requirements:
- The unit previously was upgraded via a Genset or Longblock overhaul.***
- The unit is in operation or—if not in operation—can be shown to have been preserved according to INNIO’s instructions (as defined in TA 1000-0004: Preservation of INNIO Jenbacher Modules).****
- All planned and unplanned maintenance has been completed by an INNIO Jenbacher certified affiliate.
- Your INNIO Jenbacher Customer Service Manager (CSM) has verified that the unit does not have any open technical issues that disqualify it for warranty extension (including inspection checklist).
NOTE: While a warranty extension may be offered when an overhauled reUp engine is sold, the extension must be handled as a separate conversion, modification and upgrade (CM&U) transaction rather than included in the Overhauled reUp Engine Sales Contract.
** If proof of preservation is not met, the INNIO Jenbacher Excellence Center can schedule a field technician to complete an engine inspection. The technician will conclude if the engine qualifies for warranty extension or if corrective actions might allow the unit to qualify.
*** Units that were upgraded using a Shortblock, Emergency Shortblock, or any other type of overhaul do not qualify for warranty extension.
**** If proof of preservation is not met, the INNIO Jenbacher Excellence Center can schedule a field technician to complete an engine inspection. The technician will conclude if the engine qualifies for warranty extension or if corrective actions might allow the unit to qualify.
